This is a plain-language summary of the agreement for playing Aetherbound during its beta. It is not a substitute for professional legal advice about your own situation.
By playing Aetherbound — in a browser or as an app from the App Store or Google Play — you agree to these terms. If you disagree, don’t use the game.
The game is in beta. It may change, break, or lose data. Saves can be wiped by updates, bugs, your browser, or reinstalling the app. Signing in backs your progress up to the cloud, but we still can’t promise it. You play at your own risk.
Optional sign-in (Google, or Apple on iOS) is subject to that provider’s terms. You are responsible for your account security.
Optional public handles (for example on the verified leaderboard) must not impersonate others, violate law, or harass; we may refuse or remove offensive or misleading names per the Privacy Policy.
Aetherbound is free to play. Optional supporter packs are cosmetic only — badges and banners, no gameplay advantage. On the web, payments are handled by Stripe. In the app, purchases go through Apple or Google Play and are subject to that store’s terms and refund policies. Monthly supporter subscriptions renew until you cancel them through the store or provider you bought them from.
The game, name, UI, and original code belong to the project. Most in-game art is commissioned from Whobrey Studios; some placeholder art was produced with AI assistance and is being replaced by final studio work (see the FAQ). Any third-party components used remain under their own licenses.
The game is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for lost saves, lost time, or indirect damages.
See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
We may update these terms. Continued play after changes means you accept the updated terms.
